Pa Chin 1931 329p 5 x 7
This autobiographical novel deals with internal tensions of an upper-middle class family during the New Culture Movement of 1920s China. While many contemporary radicals pay little-to-no mind of the family as a repressive institution (perhaps because of its increasing defuse or subversive forms), Pa Chin’s critque made him a counter-culture icon to the youth of 1930s China.
